Unbearable facts
Visual art / graphics - 16-19 years
Liv has made 10,000 figures. This refers to the number of children who die of starvation during a day. None of the figures are the same. It has taken 3 years to make them. Unbearable facts are about painful facts that we are presented with regularly through the media in the form of statistics and figures. The artist has been concerned with how we relate to this type of information - whether it is at all possible to take the information into account. Liv has set out to transform the numbers into the original language; The figure as a representation of man. The original language cannot be compressed. A figure means a human being. The language of numbers, on the other hand, is efficient and abstract, 10,000 people represented by 5 characters. The project presents, in a sense, an attempt to decode a statistic. A processing of the information about an unimaginable tragedy that is hidden in these figures here. The project is political in the sense that these concrete statistics point to the unequal distribution of resources on earth and put our abundance in a bright light. At the same time, this is about how difficult it is to absorb and absorb this type of information in general.
