TI BUD - «Working title SvartePetter -»
Petter Dass' Catechism Songs is Norway's first children's book, and one of Denmark-Norway's most widespread books in the 18th century. It is also the most popular Norwegian songbook of all time. Baroque Boreal has for several years done a thorough work with Petter Dass' songs over the 10 commandments (the little catechism). In this project, they worked on developing a version for young people. In the ensemble's version of the card game FIRKORT / SVARTEPER, each stitch is a bid, and the order in which the bids are presented is determined by the course of the card game. In the end, one of the players becomes Svartepetter (implicitly Petter Dass). The playful form the card game provides makes it possible to open up to the material both as a cultural heritage and as a voice today.
