As an author, Ingunn Røyset wants to convey both literary and historical qualities through her book, "They are not a chocolate spread in the war". The book is a time travel back to the Second World War, where a girl of today wakes up in January 1945. And has to deal with the role of, say, her own grandmother when she was little. Ingunn takes the children on this time journey through reading, storytelling, dramatization, sharing stories and with the help of various objects from the Second World War. And maybe a little chocolate spread? As a writer and communicator, she contributes with dramatization, narration and reading. The children get to participate by telling their own stories from the war that they may know from their grandparents or grandparents.
