Dance performance - Youth

In "The Party", an imaginary scenario unfolds at a youth party, based on young people's own stories about partying. Through conversations with young people about the party as a theme, Nina Lill Svendsen and Christer Thornell, in collaboration with young people from Ode Ung, have developed a dance performance that visualizes and problematizes challenges young people today face when they go to a party. Important themes such as intoxication, peer pressure and abuse are highlighted through dance with the youth party as a backdrop. The dancers draw the audience into the party room, where they deliver a believable and strong depiction of a course of events, which many can feel that in. The party escalates and several of the characters are challenged in situations where they have to make difficult choices.
