Doktor, kan det være AIDS?
Theatre - 13-19 years
"Doctor, could it be AIDS?" touches on a serious theme, but without the performance becoming just heavy and sad. By using direct provocation and humor, the actors try to take away some of the shame and stigma that still hangs over getting an HIV diagnosis. The performance opens up a greater understanding of what an HIV diagnosis entails, and contributes to tolerance for those affected. The action takes place in something reminiscent of a waiting room where the characters are given their destiny. Through the paper mill and the queue label system, they move towards the final verdict. Do they come through the eye of the needle, will they live, or will they lose everything and die because for a moment they chose to follow their instincts? The music acts as a common thread throughout the action and it is in the uncovering of the taboo that the magic happens.
