Our autumns artists in residency is over and we feel lucky to be part of the process for these 12 productions. There have been good conversations and reflections across the different art forms and we give them our best for the future.

This fall Seanse has had 34 talented artists and 12 productions at our artist in residency program. Week 39 and 40 we have had both international and national visual artists, musicians, dancers, actors, writers, stage decorators, storytellers, sound and light & sound technicians comming to Volda.
To work on art productions aimed at children, young people and others.

The artist in residency are put together by artists with different backgrounds and competence. In this way, they can best complement each other’s productions and provide useful input. For the most part, the artists work on their own productions, and they also receive guidance from Seanse’s mentoring staff. The first week we had Anne Mali Sæther and Marit Ulvund, the second week we had Karstein Solli and Marit Ulvund.

Open Scene is an evening during our stay where everyone shares some of their artistic work, and receives and gives professional feedback to each other. We have had productions that are in the start phase and others in the end phase.

This provides opportunities for cross-artistic feedback and open reflections on art projects that are still in the works, and are exciting and valuable evening.
Seanse would like to thank all the artists who participated for two inspiring, productive, educational weeks that will eventually delight children and young people in many places around the country.
