Concert performance - 0-5 years

It is spring in the forest and Sangermor and Sangerfar are building a nest and waiting for the eggs to hatch. The musicians lay a large egg in their nest. Hatching begins with little Knupp and Dupp. The last egg takes longer. Music is heard from the egg. Who can it be? Out comes the big Cuckoo King who is super hungry. Cuckoos are judged to be mean to their siblings. He can not share the food because he is so huge. When the family sings, Gjøken can only say KO-KO. What's wrong with this child? In the small bird's nest, Gjøken is a child who is different. It is larger than the parents, does not sleep at night and is constantly hungry. The conflicts that arise result in lots of humor and drama where the Cuckoo finally finds out who she is. The performance has an important and current theme. More and more children and young people in Norway are being medicated for behavioral difficulties. It may seem as if being "difficult" can lead to the child becoming ill and being helped through medication. This concert performance addresses this theme in an adventurous and subtle way.
