Riham Isaac

Dance -

Performance artist Riham Isaac has been inspired by ancient Arabic films, especially from the golden age of Egyptian and Lebanese music in the 60s. These were colorful films filled with song and dance performed by the superstars of the time such as Souad Housni, Sabah, Shadia, Nelly, Alrahbani, Abel Alhalim and Asmahan. With a stylistic and expressive style of play, they expressed naive and simple messages about love, morality and social conditions. The films form part of the Arab pop-cultural shared memory, and Isaac has been inspired by this modern cultural heritage that is highly valued in Arab countries. In collaboration with children and young people, she wants to create a performance that will be regarded as a kind of archive of this legendary era by recreating and interpreting various well-known song and dance numbers.
