The girl in rubber boots
The girl has two birthdays, January 26 and July 22. The girl survived the terrorist attack on Utøya, and has had to grow up with a heavier burden than many others. She is struggling through her 20s with the help of two things; exposure therapy and dark humor. She goes on a Tinder date, he is nice, but he looks like Anders Behring Breivik. Buying new wellies for her own 30th birthday becomes an unexpected ceremony. She is at a party with several survivors, they discuss who got the most likes on the survival post. Going through her 20s with a trauma can create existential and confusing situations. Is it normal heartbreak, or is it panic and trauma? The strongest feeling is the feeling of having to become successful again in the body, because you were given life as a gift the day you survived and you must forever live for those who passed away.
