Music - 13-16 years

Music is more than just 'pop' and 'what everyone is currently listening to'. The few songs you know as a youth are just a fragment of the great spectrum that is music. By combining known and unknown pieces of music, Jerve and Baksaas will make young people more aware of what it is they hear and experience in encounters with music. Listening to experimental music requires attention. It requires the youth to actively listen to each individual instrument being played rather than the songs as a pre-constructed whole. A creative mix of well-known pop music and unknown pieces such as baroque music and folk songs will trick young people into appreciating music they might never have chosen to listen to.
