Can balloons be bigger than love?

This project is a devised development of a stage text about longing, hope, love and madness. In 1897, three men set off in a hot air balloon in the hope of becoming the first people to have been to the North Pole. The expedition was only supposed to take 6 days from the north of Spitsbergen to the pole point. Back on the mainland, family, friends and entire nations waited in excitement. Anna Charliér was engaged to Nils Strindberg, who was the photographer on the expedition. She waited, waited... and waited. For 33 years she waited for an answer.
