Lars is not allowed to sleep. The night is noisy, and out of the darkness comes the Night Girl dancing; she wants to dance Lars - into the dark corners. In the dark, sleepless night, the feelings become strong, almost bodily. This is exactly how this foresight is: the ears and eyes on the stem, anything can happen, and hands - and finally; calm breath.
