Indelible
Living in diaspora means existing in multiple spaces at the same time – between here and there, past and present, memories and absence. My body is physically present in Norway, but my mind wanders through ruins and borders that separate me from my homeland, Palestine.
Through visual art, sound and performance, the project explores how different media can function as alternative languages – languages that accommodate what is often repressed or distorted by hegemonic narratives. It is an insistence on bearing witness on one’s own terms, a struggle to make visible a truth that is otherwise tried to be buried.
Indelible is both a personal and political act of resistance – a visual declaration: I am here. I see. I remember.
