SEANSES MENTORING SERVICE
Seanse is a production and development arena for professional artists, art institutions, and art in society. The center's artistic staff has over 20 years of experience with mentoring, both through annual artist residencies and external assignments. We now offer a new mentoring service to support artistic processes, productions, and dissemination.

Seanse's mentor staff has expanded and we have many mentors with extensive and versatile experience from various art fields.

MISSON
The service can be ordered by actors who wish to strengthen artistic processes, productions and dissemination. Both single assignments or mentoring over time may be appropriate.
What is a mentor?
A mentor is an experienced professional who can provide support in an artistic process through dialogue and reflection. Mentoring is non-hierarchical – that is, it is the artist/project who owns the choices and has control, while the mentor contributes perspectives, structure and experience that can strengthen direction and quality.
Which art fields and disciplines does the mentoring service cover?
We have mentors with experience from most art fields and will work to find the right mentor for each individual assignment.

Who is the mentoring service for?
The mentoring service can be ordered by actors who want support for artistic processes, productions, art workshops, conferences and dissemination. This may be relevant in an early development phase, mid-way, or completion/implementation.
Seanse is open to assignments from artists, art centers, art and cultural institutions, museums, county governments, municipalities, educational institutions, schools and other businesses/organizations.

Where can assignments be carried out?
- Our mentor travels to the location of the assignment.
- The production works at Seanse in Volda, possibly a combination of staying at Seanse and traveling to the production location.
- Digital meetings/mentoring via video
PRACTICAL INFORMATION
The mentoring service is delivered as a professional assignment with an agreed scope, price and implementation. We agree on the format and framework in dialogue, and can adapt everything from short assignments to longer follow-up mentoring.
